Project Description
The DRINTUSS project aims to create an innovative and intelligent tool for coordinating and supporting decision-making for national bodies operating in emergency situations, such as the Fire Brigade, Civil Protection, and Red Cross. The system includes a swarm of 2 drones equipped with innovative sensors and advanced autonomous decision-making capabilities, enabling rapid programming and execution—either autonomously or supervised by a ground station—of emergency missions characterized by high uncertainty and the need for maximum speed and effectiveness.
The project will result in a prototype of the innovative system, comprising 2 drones and a ground control station (GCS), with validation of the following innovative elements:
- New concept Low SwaP-C Radar, weighing less than 6 kg and designed for compact onboard drone integration.
- Innovative swarm flight management and control mode for search and rescue operations.
- Open, flexible, and highly modular system architecture, capable of managing various mission types in highly uncertain scenarios with swarms of varying numbers and types of drones.
- Advanced mission control and decision-support platform: drone and GCS Alfus rating between 4 and 5.
- Ground-to-air connectivity through a 5G channel.
